Registration Holds
There are several types of registration holds that may be placed by various
departments. The more frequent types are listed below:
Academic Advisement—Placed by the College of Engineering
Students will be notified of this hold well in advance and will be given
instructions for advisement. The hold is removed after student has received
academic advisement and has turned in a signed advisement form. The hold is
removed by the ChE academic office.
Academic Standing—Placed by the Registrar
A student whose academic standing is changed to probation will automatically
have a hold placed on registration (by the Registrar). Students with this hold
will be required to provide detailed information (in writing) regarding their
academic standing and how they intend to improve this. The letter will be
submitted to the ChE academic office and an plan for improving academic
standing must be completed before the hold will then be removed.
Parking, Financial Affairs, Immunization, Insurance, Housing—Placed by
Individual Office
Any deficiencies within the offices listed above may result in a registration
hold. Examples are below:
• Parking Office—outstanding parking tickets, etc. may result in
registration hold.
•
Financial affairs's Office—non-payment of fees, infirmary charges, printing
charges, bounced checks, etc. may
result in registration hold.
• Immunizations—proof of immunizations must be submitted prior to
registration.
• Housing Office—non-payment, destruction of property, etc. may result in registration
hold.
• International Student Center—international students receive an insurance
hold each term.
There are
various other types of University holds. Students may go to the on-line ISIS
registration system and view holds at any time. It is a good idea to check for
holds before the registration period begins in order to have ample time to take
care of any deficiencies and avoid registration delay.
