Academic Policies & Procedures

The Department of Chemical Engineering adheres to the academic policies and procedures of the College of Engineering and the University of Florida with additions.  A summary of the important policies and procedures are provided here.  Additional information relative to academic rules, conduct, graduation, social activities, failure in studies, etc. may be found in the University of Florida Undergraduate Catalog.

Students admitted to the department are expected to assume primary responsibility for fulfilling university, college and department degree requirements. It is the student’s responsibility before enrolling to review and consider all pertinent information about the university, the college and the department. Special attention must be paid to required documentation and deadlines.

Students are expected to confer with their faculty counselors and the Chemical Engineering Academic Advisement Office at regular intervals to ensure they are on track for graduation. Universal tracking audits should be reviewed by the student to ensure that all university, college and department requirements have been fulfilled. All graduating students must file an application for degree in the registrar’s office by the deadline for the semester in which they plan to graduate.
