Things To Do For Graduation
Listed below are a number of things that you need to do to
have an enjoyable, hassle-free graduation.
BEFORE the Semester You Plan to Graduate
- Check your SASS audit report each term and compare it to your
transcript and the requirements listed in the Undergraduate
Catalog. You should make this review each term to identify and
resolve problems (such as incorrectly transferred courses,
incomplete requirements and non-applicable electives) as they
appear.
- Maintain an updated Curriculum Plan in the Academic
Advisement Office.
- Register with the Career Resource Center for job interviews.
Also check with the Academic Advisement Office for job
notices.
- Complete the Consent for Release of Record and
submit it to the Academic Advisement Office.
- If you are eligible, begin your high/highest honors
project.
- During your senior year, register and take the Fundamentals
of Engineering (FE) Examination in preparation for becoming
licensed as a Professional Engineer.
- PRIOR to registration for your final semester, check with
Chemical Engineering Academic Advisement Office for a graduation
check to make sure all requirements have been met. (Bring a copy
of your latest SASS audit report and updated Curriculum
Plan)
The Semester of Your Graduation
- Complete the Application for Degree Form and submit
it to the Registrar's Office by the deadline published in the
Schedule of Courses. The application must be filed no
later than the second week in the semester in which graduation is
expected, regardless of previous applications. Failure to file
for a degree will prevent you from graduating even if you have
satisfied all other graduation requirements.
- Check with the Campus Shop and Bookstore for reservation for
cap and gown.
- If you have a high/highest honors project, complete the
project and evaluation.
- Complete the on-line Career Resource Employment
Questionnaire at http://www.crc.ufl.edu.
- Complete the department Exit Survey and
Contact/Career forms. Submit these forms to the Academic
Advisement Office, 219 Chemical Engineering.
- Arrange and have an Exit Interview with the department
chair.
- Turn in any departmental keys.
- Participate in the Order
of the Engineer ceremony.
- Come to the graduation reception hosted by the Engineering
Dean prior to graduation.
- Participate in the Commencement.
