The University of Florida is committed to quality academic advising for
students. A wide variety of services are provided to assist students in the

Services Center, 311 Weil, provides many academic support services for
engineering students. It also offers tutoring in Chemistry, Calculus, Physics
with Calculus, Differential Equations, Statics, Statistics 3032, C and C++
Programming.
The Academic
Advising Center provides faculty advisers and students with timely
and accurate information on university-wide requirements, policies, procedures
and referrals to appropriate services.
Students may also find information concerning the pre-law or pre-health
advising through the Office for Health and Legal Professions Advising (OHLPA) in
room 206 of the Academic Advising Center. Students may view the pre-law or
pre-health handbook online at the website.
The University of Florida Student Guide is a referral source about major
sections of campus life.

ISIS, the Integrated Student Information System, is an automated student information system
that allows students to
register for classes, adjust schedules, check for record holds, verify course
fees, and check grades and financial records online. All registrations (advance,
regular, drop/add, late, non degree and employee) are now completed
electronically. For more information about ISIS, consult the
website or contact the Office of the University Registrar.
The Undergraduate Catalog
is divided into three main sections. The first section includes the university
calendar, admissions information, academic regulations, and a description of
student life. The second section presents lower division and upper division
requirements for the colleges. Course descriptions are found in the third
section. In addition, the catalog has information on the staff and faculty of
the University of Florida.
Administration, admissions, records and registration, and data processing
function as the major branches of the Registrar's Office, with responsibility
for monitoring and administering academic policy, student record keeping,
registration and admissions. Students can pick up, complete, and return a number
of applications and forms, which include transcript requests, address changes,
and enrollment certification in 222 Criser.
The Office of
Admissions in 201 Criser is responsible for handling all admission and
residency requests, applications for readmission and college changes.
The Office of the Ombudsman deals with student concerns of an academic
nature. If you experience a problem related to your academic program, the
University Ombudsman is available to help you. Such problems may be related to
grades, differences of opinion with instructors, or any academic matter that
needs resolution. Students are advised to first contact the instructor, the
department chairperson, and/or the college dean before seeking assistance from
the Ombudsman.
Universal Tracking Standards
Each department has established benchmark standards for admission to a major.
In addition to the specific courses and grade point averages, all students must
follow general guidelines towards completion of university and college
requirements. Students must be on-track for their major. If a student is
off-track twice for the major in two consecutive semesters, the students must
change his or her major to a more appropriate one. For more information about
the benchmark system, consult the Undergraduate
Catalog, advisers in the Academic Advising Center, or the Undergraduate
Adviser in the department you are interested in early in your academic career.
The Office of Community College Relations in the University of Florida's
Division of Academic Affairs oversees articulation concerns facing the Florida
community college transfer student. The office is available to assist community
college transfers with concerns related to the transition from community college
to the University of Florida. The office also offers scholarships to
outstanding community college transfers with the Associate of the Arts degree. |
